The crop conservation strategies aim to identify key collections on a crop-by-crop basis, and to highlight the priority global actions necessary for efficient and effective conservation and use of these genepools. The process of developing these strategies depends on a collective analysis, by collection holders, users, and crop experts, of the current situation and alternative models for more cost-effective, rational conservation.
