Our Patron: HRH The Prince of Wales

His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales has been Patron of the Crop Trust since 2015. The Prince of Wales has been a most passionate and outspoken advocate of environmental protection and sustainable agriculture for many years.

On World Food Day, global efforts to preserve biodiversity receive a Royal endorsement: His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, takes on the role as Global Patron of the Crop Trust.

The Crop Trust's role in preserving global crop diversity is of critical importance to the achievement of long-term food security. The depletion of soil and water resources, higher average temperatures, increased prevalence of pests and diseases and more variable weather patterns pose major threats to crop yields. A prerequisite for sustainable solutions will be that researchers and farmers everywhere continue to have access to the invaluable diversity of the world's crop plants.

HRH, The Prince of Wales

We are immensely grateful for His Royal Highness’ deep commitment to our essential work. His public endorsement further highlights the understanding that preserving global crop diversity is essential to help achieve food security.
