- This project included a survey of the yam producing areas and the gathering of information regarding existing yam diversity and farmers' preferences; advisory support on the survey methodology was provided by the Laboratoire d’Agrobiodiversité et Amélioration des Plantes Tropicales (LAPPT). Establishment of community genebanks for more efficient, decentralized regeneration and use of adapted material by farmers. The multiplication and distribution in ten villages of various yam cultivars previously regenerated through Trust’s support to further increase farmers’ access to diversity.
