Enhancing the ability of the Project “Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change” to manage and share information on crop wild relatives
- Grant No
- GS17010
- Project Description
- The proposed project will develop and deploy a series of web portals to support the maintenance and access to data from 14 individual pre-breeding projects utilizing crop wild relatives. The data from each project will be stored in an underlying germinate 3 based MySQL database accessed through a query interface developed with GWT (www.gwtproject.org) as well as through a series of client applications. The informatic infrastructure will be developed through the interaction with the participants from each project and through the consultation with the potential user community in collaboration with the global crop diversity trust (GCDT) in order to identify likely use cases and consistent use of appropriate terms and descriptions of the data resources. The outcomes from this project will provide a resource to disseminate the results from the CWR project (http://www.cwrdiversity.org/) and specify the likely informatics needs of comparable pre-breeding and related line development projects.
