Ukraine

Ukraine has a population of over 44 million.

Ukraine’s crop production is highly developed, partially due to rich soils and a favorable climate. Its output of grain and potatoes is among the highest in Europe, and it is one of the world’s largest producers of sugar beets and sunflower oil.

76-83% of the food energy consumed in Ukraine comes from crops that are not native to the region. Most of these plants’ diversity is found elsewhere on the planet.
