Director of Human Resources and Corporate Operations

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Operations is responsible for setting strategic human resource and administrative direction and for ensuring that the office is operationally efficient and effective. The Director will develop a thorough understanding of the Organization’s requirements regarding human resources, administrative functions and physical facility needs. He/She will partner with other executive management to identify talent gaps and address the operational needs of Teams across the organization. The Director is responsible for full, accurate and equitable administration of all compensation and benefits and will be directly responsible for monitoring the day-to-day work of the Corporate Operations Team and staff charged with organizational information systems. He/she will oversee relations with German authorities on a range of administrative and hosting matters. As a member of a small team, the Director will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels in the full arange of HR and operational activities. In order to ensure the continuous coverage of executive duties critical to the ongoing operations of the Organization, this position will provide backup to the Executive Director during her absences.

The Crop Trust accepts applications on a continuous basis for internships.  In order to provide interns with a meaningful experience, we are only able to accommodate a limited number of interns at any one time.

The length of internships vary, but typically appointments are for a period of 3 months. Internships are initially unpaid for the 3-month duration, but depending on organizational needs and performance of the interns, the intern may be offered a temporary staff contract which includes a stipend. Interns must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (having completed at least 2 years of undergraduate work) or have completed their undergraduate programme within the last 6 months, or be currently enrolled in a masters level or other post-graduate programme. Depending on the length of the assignment, interns may be eligible for annual leave and medical leave.

Candidates must already have eligibility to legally reside in Germany for the full period of their assignment (the Crop Trust cannot assist in this) and must provide proof of adequate medical insurance.

The Crop Trust will also consider applications from graduates of masters programmes or other post-graduate programmes in an area that is relevant to the Crop Trust and who demonstrate an interest in the specific area in which they may operate at the Crop Trust. Persons who meet these criteria are considered ‘Fellows’. Fellow positions have a duration of not less than one year and may not exceed a period of two years. These positions are paid, entry-level positions with entitlement for enrollment in the Crop Trust’s medical scheme and retirement plan. Fellows are also entitled to annual leave and medical leave. Any relocation costs, if relevant, are normally not covered for fellow positions.
