Accelerating Resilient Food Systems Through Multilateral Leadership and Local Action
The Global Flagship Initiative for Food Security is hosting a side event alongside UNFCCC SB62 at the Crop Trust headquarters in Bonn, Germany.

Dryland regions -- home to some of the world’s most vulnerable populations - face increasing pressures from climate change, land degradation, and food insecurity. These areas often lack access to adequate climate finance, innovation, and policy support, making them hotspots for both ecological and socio-economic stress. In response, the Global Flagship Initiative for Food Security, launched at UNCCD COP16, has emerged as a multilateral effort to transform dryland food systems through scalable, inclusive, and climate-resilient approaches.
Building on the momentum of this initiative, and recognizing the growing intersection between climate action and food systems under the UNFCCC, this high-level dialogue at SB62 aims to bridge global leadership and local realities. By convening ministers, development partners, civil society, youth, and Indigenous groups, this event seeks to create a unified front toward resilient food systems - particularly in regions that need it most.
