Overview

Lupane State University was formed in 2004 through an Act of Parliament, the Lupane State University Act [Chapter 25:25]. The University opened its doors to the first group of 12 students in its inaugural faculty, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, which has become the flagship faculty due to our focus on agriculture in semi-arid regions. Over the years the University have grown to a student population of 3509, comprising 2105 (60%) female students and 1404 (40%) male students, and a staff compliment of 563, comprising 215 teaching staff and 348 administrative staff.
