Overview

MPGRC is a national repository centre for biodiversity information on crops and crop wild relatives. It holds collections of indigenous and introduced crops. Its main mandate is to oversee conservation of crops and its wild relatives and provide advisory services on sustainable conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture to different stakeholders. In addition to conservation, the centre also conducts research on species diversity as well as act as a biodiversity information sharing centre.
