Overview
Established by decree no. 92-182 of July 6, 1992, the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Benin (INRAB) is under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. In recent years, it has undergone significant reforms, culminating in the adoption of decree no. 2019-202 of July 24, 2019, approving its statutes. INRAB, in collaboration with various stakeholders in the agricultural sector, addresses national and international challenges related to agriculture and development. It is a public scientific institution governed by a Board of Directors (CA) comprised of representatives from all stakeholders in the agricultural research sector, and possesses legal personality and financial autonomy.
Mission
The National Institute of Agricultural Research of Benin's mission is to implement the Government's policy in the field of agricultural research through the production of information and appropriate technologies, in harmony with the preservation of natural resources, in order to meet the challenges of the rural world and contribute to scientific progress.
