
Stef de Haan is a Senior Scientist at International Potato Center CIP and a Special Professor of ‘Seed Systems and Agrobiodiversity’ at Wageningen University’s Biosystematics Group. He has 30 years of experience in agricultural research and development, emphasizing in-situ conservation, agroecology, food systems, and human nutrition in mountainous regions and indigenous communities. His research areas include genetic resource conservation, seed networks, and food system transitions. He holds a PhD in Biosystematics and a Master's degree in Agroecology from Wageningen University, as well as a degree in Agronomy from the Applied University of Larenstein. He has published over 100 scientific articles and books.
