Drawing on gender analyses from Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, Colombia and India, together with literature reviews and interviews, this policy brief shows that women are central to opportunity crop seed systems, biodiversity conservation, product development and local markets. Yet women continue to face barriers to land, finance, markets, extension services and decision-making, limiting their opportunities as well as the development potential of these crops.
