- This project with Bioversity International in collaboration with the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences of China and partners in the Philippines, evaluated 7 East African Highland bananas, and 7 plantain cultivars in the international collection, (managed by Bioversity and held at the International Transit Centre, Belgium) for their reaction to the pathogen Fusarium oxysporum (Foc TR4). The project found that all the plantain cultivars and all but 3 of the bananas showed some resistance.
