- This project with Mikocheni Agricultural Research Institute (MARI) in Tanzania characterized and evaluated 200 accessions of sorghum for tolerance to acidity and tolerance to drought. The project identified 6 and 23 accessions as potential sources of genes for tolerance to aluminum toxicity and tolerance to drought respectively.
