Development and refinement of cryopreservation protocols for the long-term conservation of vegetatively propagated crops
- Grant No
- Development and refinement of cryopreservation protocols with CIP
- Project Description
- This project served to develop cryopreservation protocols for several vegetatively propagated crops. The cryopreservation protocols were optimized and techniques were shared between seven laboratories in collaboration through exchanges of staff and experts. At the end of the project, robust and efficient cryopreservation protocols were developed for each crop, and the best protocols selected and tested on a significant number of accessions. These protocols aid in the large-scale application of the long-term conservation of the project collections.
