- During this project with the National Root Crops Research Institute, Nigeria evaluated 87 yam accessions for resistance to mosaic virus, anthracnose, tuber rot, beetle and nematode, plus early maturity, stay green ability and in-ground maturity. The project identified 1, 10 and 82 accessions as potential sources of genes for resistance to mosaic virus, resistance to tuber rot and resistance to beetle damage respectively.
