Project Description
This project with National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC), Pakistan agro-morphologically characterized and evaluated 357 accessions of chickpea for resistance to aschochyta. The project also morphologically characterized and evaluated 470 accessions of wheat for yellow rust, tolerance to drought and protein quality. The project identified 12 chickpea accessions as potential sources of genes for resistance to aschochyta, 127 accessions of wheat for resistance to yellow rust, and 25 wheat for tolerance to drought.
