- Filling the gaps on Brazilian crop wild relatives in ex situ collections
- Project Description
- This project supported gap filling of Brazillian crop wild relatives in ex situ collections. Gap analysis was based upon updated information of natural species distribution and predicted impacts of climate change collection. Germplasm was collected of wild finger millet, sweet potato, rice, and potato. In addition, protocols for cryopreservation of potato and sweet potato were adapted to evaluate the physiologic quality of the seeds. Collected accessions were deposited in Ambrapa genebanks and the Millennium Seed Bank of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
