Enhancing genebank data management in SADC with GGCE

Project Description

The objective of this project is to facilitate the possible transition from SDIS to GGCE and to enhance the data management capacities of both SADC Member States and the regional facility. This will be achieved by deploying GGCE for SPGRC and three selected NPGRCs and evaluating GGCE as the software powering SDIS for the entire network. A positive evaluation and the endorsement by the SADC network paves the way to improve data management in all 15 NPGRCs in the future. This will help them to align practices with global standards, ensuring more efficient and effective conservation and use of PGRFA in the Southern African region.
