- Grant No
- Global Information on Germplasm (GIG) project with CIAT
- Project Description
- As a follow-up to the development of the GRIN Germplasm Information System (see project GS07004), this project aimed to improve access of breeders and other users to germplasm in genebanks around the world. Specifically, the project developed information standards to describe the characteristics of genetic resources of greatest interest to users, deployed a genebank data-management system appropriate to users in developing countries, and developed a global accession-level information system.
