- The Crop, Aromatic and Medicinal Plant Biodiversity Research and Development Institute (Institut de recherche pour le developpement (Institut de recherche pour le developpement (IRD))CAM) in collaboration with the Institute National de Recherches Agricoles du Benin (INRAB) and evaluated Benin yam landraces held at the Plant Genetic Resources Unit, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Abomey - Calavi for tolerance to high moisture, drought and poor soil, and resistance yam diseases and pests and desired agronomic traits, including productivity, stay green ability, and storage aptitude of the tuber. The project aimed to identify agronomically desirable varieties for farmers' use in Benin and the region.
