- Project Description
- This project facilitated the regeneration of 623 accessions of yam. The growing process revealed significant threats from fungal and viral diseases that were difficult to control. As such, insecticide controls were tested as part of this project, in addition to pesticide experimentation against orange beetle, cutworm, and tussock moth. Elimination of germplasm accessions declined, characterization proceeded, more samples became available to various interested parties, and many accessions could be regenerated in vitro.
