Targeted use of crop wild relatives for improved abiotic stress resistance in cultivated sweet potato

Grant No
Targeted use of sweet potato wild relatives
Project Description
This project organized the optimal and systematic use of biotic and abiotic stress resistance traits identified in sweet potato wild germplasm to generate better-adapted parental stocks for future breeding programs. The program broadened the genetic base available for pre-breeding programs, improving sweet potato prospects in marginal, heat-prone areas.
