Project Description

This project aimed to develop a holistic strategy that addresses both the global concerns for coffee germplasm conservation and industry concerns for its use and availability. Documents assessing the background and status of the global conservation strategy were prepared, the complementarity of ex situ and in situ collections (of cultivated and wild coffee relatives) was analyzed, and high priority actions related to the long-term investment in the conservation of coffee were identified.
