Usha Barwale Zehr

Dr. Usha Barwale Zehr is Chairman and Executive Director of Grow Indigo Private Limited (GIPL). Grow Indigo is focused on promoting sustainable agriculture, including carbon farming for smallholder farmers, in a first-of-its-kind initiative in India. Dr. Zehr is also the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a Director on the Board of Mahyco Private Limited, India’s pioneering hybrid seeds company. She has focused on agricultural productivity improvements and enhancing farmer incomes throughout much of her professional career. With the climate emergency that we find ourselves in now, the work that Grow Indigo is doing addresses the need for sustainability and resilience while increasing farmers’ incomes.
