Overview
Yanapai, a Quechua word that means "to help" in Spanish, is a Peruvian NGO created in 1982 as an association of transdisciplinary researchers seeking to strengthen research and development (R&D) processes in the high Andean rural territories to achieve sustainable and resilient agri-food systems with sovereignty and identity.
The Yanapai Group work in collaboration with local and regional governments, research centers, national and international universities, NGOs, private companies and international cooperation with a participatory, transdisciplinary, intercultural and gender approach; to contribute to having more inclusive and equitable territories.
Mission
To promote sovereignty and identity for sustainable rural territories.
To be facilitators of processes and technical knowledge, taking into account and respecting that it is the peasant families themselves who define their development and guide their future.
