Overview
The James Hutton Institute (JHI) was founded in 2011 through the merger of the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute and the Scottish Crop Research Institute. The Institute focuses on improving crop resilience and sustainability, protecting and enhancing natural capital, and connecting land and communities to deliver transformative solutions that support the well-being of future generations. It also offers a range of analytical, commercial research, crop science, consultancy, and scientific project services.

JHI is assisting partners at John Innes Centre (JIC) in Norwich, UK, to make their characterization and evaluation data from their grass pea diversity panel—a key BOLDER crop—available online using our informatics tools (Germinate; https://germinate.hutton.ac.uk).
